Giving back to Nature

We’re proud to share that BKC has officially partnered with the South Downs National Park Authority as part of their Visitor Giving Scheme — a community-led initiative that helps protect one of Britain’s most treasured natural landscapes.

This partnership means that we’re now contributing to the care and conservation of the South Downs through voluntary donations from customers. These small contributions go a long way in supporting a variety of projects that matter — from preserving wildlife habitats and ancient woodlands to funding youth education and improving walking trails across the National Park.

Why Are We Supporting This?

As a brand that deeply values heritage, sustainability, and community, it’s important for us to give back to the world around us — not just through food, but also through action. The South Downs is a living, breathing ecosystem that deserves protection — and we’re proud to be a part of that journey.

What It Means for You:

A small voluntary donation (usually 50p–£1) may be added to your  bill — and 100% of it goes directly to the conservation efforts in the National Park.

What happens to the money donated?

Examples of how money could be spent:

  • £2.50 Pays for a square metre of wildflower meadow, a fantastic nectar source for many of our bees and butterflies.
  • £5  Supports a volunteer ranger for a month
  • £10 Pays for a tree sapling to be planted in the South Downs or gives a child access to hands-on education activities.
  • £50 Resurface a 1 metre section of the South Downs Way.
  • £100 Fund a new finger post helping to ensure visitors don’t get lost
  • £500 Cover the costs for our Rangers to restore a section of chalk grassland, creating a haven for wild orchids and butterflies.
